MILF: Wrong Kind of Love by Erin Noelle

SYNOPSIS:
Wrong Kind of Love
A story of forbidden love with a side of revenge...
When my husband of nearly twenty years abruptly left me for another woman, I thought my life was over.
But I was wrong...
Wrong for thinking I was weak, wrong for assuming I couldn't go on, wrong for believing I wouldn't love again.
No matter what anyone else thinks,
Wrong never felt so right.

*********

Here's why MILF works...FOR ME.

This is a coming of age story. No matter what your age is, it's never too late to find something new about yourself. You find yourself in a situation that you would never think would happen to you and in this case it's about Mia. A married woman who has just been served divorce papers out of the blue by her once loyal husband. She's devastated by this but determined not to let it get her down. She immerses herself into her work and focuses on herself along with her son. What makes it more sad is that her husband carried an affair to her once best friend. This once best friend has a son named Grayson who comes back from his studies in Spain to attend the marriage of his mom and step-dad. There is already a connection with Mia and Grayson since they've known each other for years.

Even though Mia knew Gray since he was a kid, there was no ick factor. It wasn't like she was attracted to him when he was a kid. He's in his early 20's to her late 30's when their love affair begins. At first, it shocks Mia to be attracted to Gray. There's the age difference but also because he's her sons best friend. Then when they see that it's not just a one time thing, they keep it on the down low from her son until they can both speak to him. Other people come to play. Either it's to tease or to cheer them on; they both get support in their relationship. Of course, there's drama and from the prologue you'll see what I mean.

I didn't see it as Mia going thru a mid life crisis. Grayson just happened to be there when she needed someone the most. No matter the age. MILF is a fast paced, funny and sexy story. The only issue I had was towards the end. I felt it was rushed with the outcome of their relationship and how it was "resolved" quickly. Also I would have liked to have seen more interaction between Mia and Grayson on some parts. All in all, I definitely recommend.

Happy Reading!

~Cover Reveal & Blurb~Worth the Wait by Jessica Prince

***Blurb***

Cloverleaf was Mackenzie Webster's escape. It was the place where she'd dreamed of starting over, of creating a new life for her and her children. She had a carefully thought out plan for what this new life would look like, and nowhere in it was there room for a new relationship. But the one thing Kenzie never counted on was meeting Brett Halstead.

Brett's life was all about fun and friends. "Long term" wasn't a phrase that fit his lifestyle. That was, until Kenzie walked into his life and turned his laid back world upside down. Now he wants serious. He wants long term, and he wants it with Kenzie and her kids.

But her past refuses to go away and threatens to tear the couple apart. Can Brett break through Kenzie's walls and show her that love doesn't always hurt, or has the damage already been done? The one thing he knows for certain is that a life with Kenzie is worth the wait. And he'll do whatever it takes to prove that to her.

Claimed by the Alpha Dolphins: Part One: Bound to the Sea by Lyra Fawn

Two brawny surfers from a foreign realm hold a secret that only she will share…

Thrust into a web of intrigue, Mona finds herself at the center of a centuries-old conflict between two rival pods of dolphin shifters known as the Dolphinae. Marked as a ‘Descendant of Neptune’, she first catches the eye of Lucan, a dark and handsome prince who admires her curves. But when his blond and regal companion, Dario, lays claim to her, the two suitors insist upon a duel of honor. However, a greater danger lurks beneath the sea, and Mona discovers she must reconcile the passion of the two alpha dolphins, or watch their entire race be destroyed.

*************

Whelp. This is my first dolphin shape shifter book and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but it still wasn't all that good and I'll get to that in a bit but for now I'll get to why I semi-enjoyed this book.

First off, it has Dolphins. Dolphins that shift into surfer guys with chiseled bodies and who are both well endowed. You don't come across dolphin shape shifter stories very often, at least I don't. It was different, original and imaginative. Oh and did I mention that there are also Were-Shakrs who are the bad guys AND Were-Orcae's who are like Switzerland? *Even though the Orcae's don't appear in this book, I'm sure they will make a grand appearance in book 2.* Yup. My first visual of a Mordentes, shark shifters, is of Bruce from Finding Nemo. Say hello Mordentes.

Now to why I didn't care so much for this story. The lack of connection between the characters, especially during the sex scenes. It just felt dry and we all know that when it feels dry, especially during sex, it's going to hurt and be uncomfortable. There was potential there but it just didn't hit the mark. And talking about sex scenes, the first time she did one of them I almost had a whiplash because one second she is out in the middle of the street, in a pink teddy with no panties on and the next she is being all over that DD (dolphin dick).
The dialogue wasn't great at all.
Beginning of the story I thought Mona was going to be a strong, wise thinking woman but that wasn't to be because she decides to follow two complete male strangers to their hotel room to get answers about their shifting abilities. She instantly follows along with what Dario and Lucan tells her, especially Dario during her "test". That part had me shaking my head and thinking, "Mmmmm that child has gone got herself a dolphin penis stamped vagina and acting a fool now."

I'm curious to see how things go in book two so yes, I will be reading it because I know this is bound to happen.

Fighting dolphins with machine guns *fingers crossed* battling the Mordentes.

Oh and to see if Mona is able to save both Dario and Lucan by having them both lay claim over her. *She is such a dolphin cock hoarder*

Oh, Oh and because of the Were-Orcae's because....yeah. Awesomeness.

The Pact by Karina Halle

He leans in a millimeter until the side of his nose gently brushes against the side of mine. "This moment," he says, his voice hoarse, and closes his eyes. "This moment."

In this light heartfelt somewhat angsty friends to lovers story, we follow the lives of Linden and Stephanie who have secretly loved each other from afar even when they're close. When a pact is made, one took it to heart while the other thought of it as just words. When a dare is made, it sets things in motion for the pact to be fulfilled. Spanding the years of friendships, lovers, ex lovers, good and bad moments; we see love bloom and friendships tested. When words and actions are said they are felt more with the one you love cause they have more power to destroy you. The Pact is funny and sexy. Throw in a dirty mouthed Scot and it's makes it more sexier. Aye.

This is completely different from other Karina Halle's stories. What I really like about her writing is that she takes chances with different genres. Now to get her to write an erotica story with a bearded man, I'd be all over that.

My absolute favorite lines:

"In the end you might have all my pieces," I tell her. "Please gentle with them."
"Linden," she says and her voice sounds like snow. "Please be gentle with me."

Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley

Wild and Free is the third installment in Kristen's The Three Series.  As with every book from KA, this book will not dissappoint. You say hello to people you've met in the first two books, Until The Sun Falls From the Sky and With Everything I Am. You get introduced to some new hot and delicious guys that knows how to kick some serious ass. You meet new people that will warm your heart with love, wisdom and truth. You will also say goodbye to people, some you know and some you just met. With their goodbye's you will feel the feels. You will feel it deep down inside.

Oh but don't worry, you will also say goodbye to people that will have you not feeling the feels but rather a "Thank Goodness" they are dead kinda feel.

The people that have come and gone in Abel's life that he has loved and who have shown him love is beautiful and sad. Beautiful because of the protection and unconditional love they showed to Abel. Sad because of the inevitable death that comes with life.

Delilah is a spitfire. Growing up with her mother wasn't easy cheesy for her but it changed for the better when she moved in with her dad.

When Abel and Delilah connect it is magical, explosive and hot as hell and also sweet.

Some of my favorite parts in the books:

  • He'd been dreaming of her for over a hundred years. The reality was better.
  • Delilah Johnson. Total biker bitch.
  • Delilah talking to Abel about True Blood.....hilarious.
  • Viking funeral.....oh the feels.
  • Cat Steven's "The Wind" and the words whispered, "That's a deal,".....I lost it. The feels took over and I lost it.
  • John Denver's "The Eagle and the Hawk".....Totally lost it. Especially with these words "**********, I prayed. You've done your job. We're safe now. The world is safe now, because of you."

Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven

I'll give props to the writing which was good and the wit of the main character Cassie; and for those reasons alone, I gave it four stars otherwise I would have downgraded and I'll get to that in a bit. The story goes to past and present of the lives of Cassie and Ethan. They both are attending a school and are trying to make an in in the acting industry. This is where their "relationship" began. Cassie lived a kinda sheltered life and thru this her naivety showed with her "relationship" with Ethan. Now this is where I had problems. I've never been that type of girl(the one who "Oh why doesn't he call me"?!, "What did I do wrong"?!, blah blah blah). I tried to forgive this being that it's her first love and her age but it still annoyed the hell outta me. Other than that, Cassie's way of thinking and the things she says had me laughing. I got that part not the whole Ethan debacle. As for Ethan, I didn't get his character. That's all I got for him. In the present, they are reunited but it's still a clusterfuck with their feelings towards each other. I didn't like the ending. It leaves off with questions being unanswered but there is a sequel so there's that.

All in all, it's still a good debut by an author and I recommend it to the NA crowd.

Pushing the Boundaries by Jessica Prince

Pushing the Boundaries is the third installment in the Picking Up the Pieces series and it's the story of Lizzy &Trevor.

This book will have you laughing from the get go until the very end. Trevor is by far the funniest and most hilarious hot guy from the group in Cloverleaf. The things he says will remind you of the things that either your brother, closest male friend or even you boyfriend/husband would say. Lizzy's family is the best while Trevor's family will leave a foul taste in your mouth.

Trevor tries his best and at times pushes his way into Lizzy's life because for him, Lizzy is it. Lizzy on the other hand wants the happily ever after that her friends are experiencing but she doesn't want it with Trevor. Well, that's what she thinks because with his past of being the new guy who hooked up with all the available vagina's in town, she can't trust him with her heart because she fears that if she does and he breaks it then that's it. She will never recover from it.

Their journey of realizing that they are meant for each other is hilarious with big snorts of laughter with a mix of, "OMG that is the sweetest thing ever!" and of course with one of them hurting the other.

A Desperate Man by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine

SYNOPSIS

Fantasies - we all have them.
For some it’s their dream job; others want the wedding, the 2.5 kids, the white picket fence.
My fantasies are a bit more...depraved.
Dark and sinful, they have destroyed relationships and my livelihood, yet I still submit to them like a slave.

Sex.
For most, it’s a natural expression of love, caring, or lust.
But there are those of us who can’t stop once we’ve had a taste.
Those of us who don’t want to.
And the shame of that never-ending cycle will eat us alive...

My name is Evan James, and I am a sex addict.

~REVIEW~

Sex.

We get into the mind frame of a sex addict and what a person does to feed their addiction.

Sex.

This addiction can ruin the life of said addict and those who become entangled with it.

Sex.

It's pleasurable. It's pain. It's a way to get off. It's a way to get on. Repeat cycle.

Sex.

The beginning always has an end. How will it end? In the first installment of this serial we see how it starts. We see the effect it has on people. A Desperate Man is filled with sex. Some of it is sexy while other parts are desperate. It definitely has me intrigued.

EXCERPT

“Come here.”

Evan James crooked his finger at the blonde currently shimmying back into her minuscule, tight, black dress. The same one she’d worn last night that had called like a siren’s song to his cock in the middle of the dimly lit club.

She looked over at him with heavy-lidded eyes and held the barely there fabric still around her waist. His eyes zoomed in on the impressive breasts overflowing out of her sheer, black bra. Covered, but not enough.

His mouth watered, and he wanted to drag her back to the bed and take hold of her ripe nipple before pulling the fabric down and out of his way to take her fully into his mouth again.

After having had her so many times in the last few hours, she’d no doubt taste of him on every inch of her soft skin. He liked that. Before, she’d tasted faintly of vanilla musk—a fragrance he wasn’t overly fond of. He’d made quick, dirty work of her though, marking and leaving his scent on her with his lips, his sex, his come, and he figured one last go-round before sending her on her way would suppress his craving for at least a couple of days.

He hoped. His appetite was voracious.

“Can’t get enough, can you?” She leaned down over the edge of the bed and placed her hands there, giving him an ample view of what he wanted. Now.

He narrowed his eyes. “Don't play with me.”

Blondie tsked and put her knees on the mattress, crawling on all fours toward him. “Oh, baby, I told you you’d never want me to leave once you got inside.”

She was right about that much. If he could live in pussy, he would. It was his weakness, his addiction, the one thing he’d give up anything and everything for. And he nearly had.

FAST TALK WITH ELLA AND BROOKE

1. 3 things you never leave home without?

Ella: Phone, wallet, keys

Brooke: A bottle of water, chapstick/lip gloss, and some form of communication

2. Name the last 3 books you have purchased.

Brooke: The King by Tiffany Reisz, Made by J.M. Darhower, and a signed copy of The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare

Ella: A King Undone by Cooper Davis, Succubus on Top by Richelle Mead, and Sempre by J.M. Darhower

3. Your biggest pet peeve?

Ella: Being told to talk in a quieter voice. I get loud when excited. It takes away the fun when interrupted and told to speak softly. ~pouts~

Brooke: Most of mine have to do with people being glued to phones in public, whether it’s during a movie or live theatre, at dinner with friends, or while trying to have a one on one conversation. No one’s in the moment anymore.

4. Favorite male body part?

Brooke: Eyes, always. Can height be a body part too? Because I hate being taller than the guy all the time.

Ella: Nice, broad shoulders.

5. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Ella: No. I think you can find someone extremely attractive, but to love a person, I believe you need to know them.

Brooke: No way. To love someone, you need to love all of them, even the ugly parts they don’t want you to see. And at first sight, they definitely aren’t showing off those flaws.

6. Sex on the first date?

Brooke: For my friends? Absofuckinglutely. I love hearing about it afterward. ;) But for me, probably not. I’m much shyer than I let on.

Ella: No. And not because I’m a prude, I just never have.

7. If you can be any fictional character for a day, who would you want to be?

Ella: Elizabeth Bennett on her wedding day (and night) to Mr. Darcy.

Brooke: Ohhh, good one, Ella. I’m gonna go total potternerd and say any character in Harry Potter. For the butter beer and magic spells, of course.

8. Write a short letter to Santa Claus and show us how it would like.

Brooke: Dear Santa, I’ve been really good for the last twenty minutes that I’ve been writing these answers, so let’s just focus on that, shall we? Ps – I’ll leave you dark chocolate bacon cupcakes instead of stale cookies this year if you put our book in everyone’s stockings.

Ella: Dear Santa, Just because my name made it to the top of the naughty list does not mean I participated in any kind of shenanigans. I was a good girl, I promise… well okay, maybe not promise, how about…I think? Love & kisses, Ella

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

About Brooke

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

Her first solo novel, a romantic comedy, is due out in early 2015, but first, she thought she’d write a raunchy story with her best friend that would scar her conservative southern family for life.

If you’d like to get in touch with her, she’s easy to find - just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that’s dominated her cell phone for ten years.
